According to Michel Foucault, the garden is the birthplace of the novel, for it allows us to understand the world and to represent it. Some writers, such as Alexandre Dumas, Colette, Rudyard Kipling, and Agatha Christie, did more than simply write about nature and draw inspiration from it. They created their own gardens in their own image, according to their dreams and their art. Their relationship with nature determined their vocation or accompanied and nourished it in an essential way. This mysterious herbarium is an invitation to set out on a journey of discovery through literary gardens. An opportunity to get to know twenty-five major authors, and dozens of tree species and plant names from around the world.
